Yup, like the David Bowie song.

Sound & Vision Collective is an Atlanta and Los Angeles-based social impact agency for musicians of all levels. Founded by friends and Bowie fans Dom Kelly and Kat Manos, the mission is simple: bring great artists together with impactful and socially-conscious nonprofit organizations and develop strategy/create campaigns that help both reach new audiences, build capacity within communities, and ultimately make the world a better, more just and equal place.

With nearly two decades of combined experience in digital media, Dom and Kat bring expertise in social media, design, data-driven marketing, and storytelling to help elevate clients’ presence online. Additionally, Dom’s 15 years of recording and touring all over the world and Kat’s obsession with music, particularly seeing live shows, drives their commitment to working with artists at all levels. Both are passionate about social justice and realized that there was a missed opportunity to connect the artists they love with the organizations working to make the world a better place. By bringing together music makers and change makers, both can increase their visibility and have a more impactful presence in the ever-changing digital space.

Quite simply, Sound & Vision believes music can and should change the world.

Why do I need to worry about social impact?

“Someone had to change the world. And obviously I was the one for the job.” -Joan Baez

Joan Baez, while known for her incredible voice and powerful songs, is also known for her activism. Music goes hand in hand with social justice for her, and throughout her career, she’s made a point to use her platform for good. Today, she’s a folk icon with a decades-long career in music, but her legacy will most certainly transcend the songs she recorded and the shows she played. Her legacy will be the change her fight for human rights since the 1960s helped bring about.

Every artist, big or small, has the power to create change. Using your platform to help make a better world not only makes your songs that much more powerful, but it helps your audience make a deeper connection to you and your work. It’s one thing to market yourself as an artist and try to build a following so more people hear your work, but there are so many others who are trying to do the same thing. It’s an entirely different thing when you marry that need for reaching a broader audience with a genuine desire to do good. The issues you care about impact the people listening to your music, which is why social impact is a vital part of every artist’s development.
